Questions, answered plainly
Does it have caffeine?
No. There is no tea leaf in it.
Why does it smell a little like maple?
That is methi. Fenugreek seeds have the same aroma compound as maple syrup.
Can I drink it after meals?
Yes. Half an hour after lunch or dinner is a good time for a seed-based kahwa.
Can I soak it instead of boiling it?
You can soak a teaspoon overnight in a cup of water, the way methi water is made, then warm and strain it in the morning. The simmered kahwa tastes fuller.
Can I drink it if I'm pregnant or on medication?
Methi is usually avoided in larger amounts in pregnancy, so please ask your doctor first. On any regular medication, ask before making it a daily cup.
