About
We started because good tea had become hard to buy
Vapika began in Amritsar in 2022, out of a fairly ordinary frustration: most of what is sold as herbal tea is dust in a bag, and most of what is sold as a wellness blend does not tell you what is actually in it.
Whole ingredients, visibly
Open a pack of our kahwa and you can identify what you are looking at — pieces of bark, whole seeds, dried flowers, cut root. That is deliberate. Grinding everything to powder makes blending cheaper and makes it impossible for anyone to tell what they bought.
Our teas are whole leaf or leaf grade, not fannings. Our botanicals are sold as single ingredients — chamomile is chamomile, hibiscus is hibiscus — so you can brew them on their own or build something of your own.
Small batches, because that is the honest size
Everything is blended and packed by us in Amritsar, in quantities small enough that a batch moves before it goes flat. We are not warehousing a year of stock. When something sells out, it is because it sold out.
What we mean by a kahwa
Kahwa in the north of India means a brewed infusion, usually simmered rather than steeped, traditionally made with whatever the household kept for the season — ginger and tulsi in the winter, lighter flowers in the summer. It is a domestic tradition, not a clinical one.
That is the tradition our blends come from. We portion them so you can make one on a Tuesday morning without measuring anything, and we tell you exactly what went in.
